Akira Kirosawa directed the film Seven Samurai and it released in 1954. Hollywood remade this film in 1960 as Magnificent Seven. This film included plenty of characters and it based in 16th century of Japan. The story started with a group of bandits are planning to raid a village at harvest time for robbing the crops. So the villagers searched someone who can protect them from bandits and they hired seven samurais led by Kanbei.
The most interesting fact of this movies is character development. Each of seven samurais have their respective skills, weakness and past. The cast was decorated with interesting characters and famous actors. It started with aged and experienced samurai, Kanbei (played by Takashi Shimura). Then came short tempered, stubborn but skillful samurai Kikuchio (played by Toshiro Mifune). In this movie, we can discover the past time of each samurai, fears and their own reasons why they accept to protect the villagers from bandit
We can see how Kurosawa presented his stunning scenes. He used close up shots and camera angles. He also used many cameras in this film. Besides these awesome facts, this film show what is honor, duty and heroism? Although samurais have their own problems, they protect the weak, and fight injustice. They sacrifice for these causes. This film also gave us a remark that strength of unity, consistency and power of community. The samurais train the villagers who will encounter the bandits with them. Their friendship with the villagers became stronger and forged. We can see exciting, tense and fascinating shots of Kurosawa in the cinematic battle scene.
Audience determined this movie as a classic film over seventy years (almost a century) after its released. People who interesting in art of filmmaking and people who love classic films should watch this one of Akira Kurosawa best films.
